DJ Lady D
In Chicago, the home of House, dreams of making it as a DJ are dashed everyday. But not for DJ Lady D (Darlene Jackson) who began playing in 1995 and has been in demand ever since. Known, respected and followed, she remains the 'Peoples Choice', with devotees among House-heads, wannabe DJÕs, party people, celebs, gays, artists, intellectuals, and so on.
As she commits to her 14th year in dance music, what many recognize in Lady D is her ability to balance House and home. When Lady D became well known for her compilation, 'Naked Kaleidoscope', she had the opportunity to take her brand of House music beyond Chicago's borders. Keeping in mind she is the devoted mom to a 10 year-old, straight-A student whose days consist of school meetings, making meals, helping with homework and shaping the mind of a part of tomorrow''s generation--she takes that as seriously (or more) as keeping House music alive for today's generation. But the two are inseparable to her because as she puts it, "House music is about positivity so it's important to keep doing what I'm doing. I pass along everything I demonstrate in my playing to my kid--to persevere, to uplift and to have fun!"
Lady D's productions and remixes have appeared on labels such as AfterHours, BlackJack, Vista, Body Music, Journeys By DJ's and her own imprint, DÕLectable. Her current Itunes podcast averages over 100 downloads daily and her mixes can be heard streaming on various online sites from AOL music to Music Choice. She's self-produced over 50 promo mix CD's and her mixes are played routinely in restaurants, salons and boutiques the world over, not to mention radio shows such as Chicago's Q101, XM radio's 'The Move', Vibe101 FM (Galaxy 101) and various internet radio shows around the globe.
Along with her production and remix credentials, Lady D got her skills in A&R with AfterHours Records where she was responsible for giving Kaskade his career start and signing projects from Full Intention, Miguel Migs, Derrick Carter, JT Donaldson to name a few.
As a largely requested DJ, Lady D has performed for celebs like Billy Corgan, Queen Latifah, Dennis Rodman, Black Eyed Peas and the cast of Cirque Du Soleil. She's graced decks for fashion giants Diesel, Hugo Boss, Macy's and Bloomingdale's and cosmetics companies Benefit and Skin Market. She's been billed with Francois K, King Britt, Samantha Ronson, Henry Rollins, Sandra Collins, Kevin Hedge, Ron Trent and more.
The limelight has followed her career carefully and in addition to various film, tv, documentaries and videos, Lady D has been featured on magazine covers and in stories in Billboard, Spin, Urb, iDJ, XLR8R, DMA, DJ, Chicago magazine, UR, 5 and many more. DJ Lady D is a name that people have come to know, count on and trust.
One thing DJ Lady D loves as much as music is travel and, as an international DJ, her travels have taken her to places in Europe, Asia and extensively across the US, Mexico and Canada. She has played mainstream tours with Slater Hogan and her partners in SuperJane: Colette, DJ Heather and Dayhota.
Everyday, DJ Lady D proves if you have talent as well as commitment, you can make it as a DJ anywhere--including Chicago. Go to www.djladydmusic.com for more on Lady D. And you can send her a note at ladyd@ilovedmusic.com

Steve Koutso
Steve’s career in the music industry was established in 1994 when, at the age of 19, he and Onofrio Lollino -- both part of the famed 20 Fingers production team -- produced and released a remake of Marvin Gaye’s classic ‘Sexual Healing' on SOS/BMG Entertainment. The album was an instant success and achieved numerous domestic and international awards including Platinum and Diamond status in Asia, Canada and South America.
Steve went on to lend a hand on other Top 100 hits as well, including a remix of Moby’s ‘Body Rock’ released on Richard Branson's V2 Records. In 1999, after a string of hits (& misses) and the beginning of a paradigm shift within the music industry where digital file sharing and downloads were becoming a real threat to traditional CD sales, Steve walked away from the business.
But when Lady D, a prominent female DJ and tastemaker in the musical genre of house and electronica, approached Steve in 2004 with a proposal to set out and create a mostly digital record and publishing company entirely focused on signing markedly innovative writers and artists, Steve could not resist the offer to fund the start-up as he always had a penchant for fine music and talent.
